Rope Store Gallery/Café/Outside, Quay Arts Drinks Reception: Sat 30 Jan 6 - 8 pm All Welcome
Working separately, Island artists, Michael Forrest and David Knight explore the world of vitreous enamel in a show that will take full advantage of the material’s complexity and durability.
Michael and David both create artwork that is graphic and bold. Their work, although different in subject matter, complements each other, creating a playful and thought provoking experience for visitors.
Differing styles and subject matter of the work amalgamates in a fusion of ideas, celebrating the essence of the medium; where two opposing materials are bonded together.
Melting artwork and industrial processes in an image led explosion of contemporary visual art, both artists will use a mixture of non-enamel techniques as well as works made in the focal medium; vitreous enamel.
The exhibition will flow throughout the Café, dramatic statement pieces will fill outdoor spaces, and the show will then conclude in the Rope Store Gallery producing a more intimate setting, surrounding the viewer within a nucleus of creativity.
