Malindy Argyle
Since moving to the Island in 2000 Malindy Argyle has established herself not only as regular exhibitor but also as a much respected teacher of Watercolours. This is her first solo show and promises a riot of colour and a feast for the eye. Pastels, oils, watercolours and acrylics will all be on view together for the first time along with cards and prints.

The exhibition at The New Rembrandt Gallery features a wide range of work from the Artist, including paintings from her time spent in the Highlands of Scotland (1995 – 2000) along with her most recent pictures of the Isle of Wight. The rich and varied landscape of the Island has been a constant source of inspiration for her and she has exhibited several times in the ‘Landscape Paintings of the Isle of Wight competition organised by Professor Robin McInnis, and won First Prize for her painting ‘Headland’ in 2009.

Many of her landscapes and vivid abstracts are now on permanent display in a number of hospitals including St Mary’s in Newport where they provide a welcome relief from the associated anxieties and ennui.

The clear primary colours, complex patterns and rhythms of her abstract are appreciated by people from all walks of life, particularly in the Chemotherapy unit where patients can spend many hours undergoing treatment.

The Artist lives in Sandown and works from her garden studio, all enquiries welcome through her website: www.malindyargyle.com
