Growing up on our lovely Island, Ged Wells began hand making and painting his own boards back in 1978 following the rapid demise of the global skate craze.

The skate magazines that fed his obsession had folded so he filled the void by drawing imaginary skate parks. It wasn’t until 1983, when shown a copy of Thrasher magazine that he was made aware of skateboarding’s underground culture.

His art and obsession exploded as he began hand painting shoes and clothing, signing works with a mad face icon. In 1984, his works were described as ‘insane’ by his friend Andy Holmes and so he took this name as an artist alias. His friend Dominic Ward helped Wells to print the first Insane Stickers which became currency within the south coast skate scene.

After moving to London in 1989, the Insane brand grew, with his unique, stylish and very very cool work being well sought after. Well known for his contributions to a multitude of zines, respected as a skater, and inspirational as an artist we are privileged to be able to display and offer the opportunity for people to own a little piece of INSANE. ********************For a limited time only!************************ COME ON DOWN TO GETAROUND STARTS FRIDAY 15th MARCH until 15th APRIL.
