Professor Robin McInnes will describe the history of painting along the Undercliff coast from the period 1830-1870 with a focus on the school of artists that painted the shoreline from their base at Seaside Cottage, Bonchurch.

He will explain why the artists painted there, the influence of the Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood and their Followers and how there is renewed interest today in this important group of artists.
