This day course will concentrate on some of the well known Island personalities, particularly the famous and notorious people born here, as well as the creative artists and inventors who chose to move here. It will try, in a broad sweep, to cover a wide range of Island rooted or based personalities who influenced the world far beyond our shores.

Founded in 1903, the Workers’ Educational Association (WEA) is a charity and the UK’s largest voluntary sector provider of adult education.

The WEA provides high quality, student-centred and tutor-led education for adults from all walks of life.
