On Saturday 17th September, the Phoenix Choir will be in concert at Cowes Methodist Church, in aid of Cowes Sailability Club.

Admission is free with a retiring collection, a raffle and interval refreshments. The evening commences at 7.30pm. The mixed choir sing a wide range of easy listening songs.

Cowes Sailability Club (CSC) provides the opportunities for Island people, with physical disabilities, learning difficulties or other long-term debilitating medical conditions, to be out on the water. Hosted by Cowes Corinthian Yacht Club, the all-volunteer registered charity provides the essential practical support for disabled Islanders, to cruise on the River Medina and the Solent aboard a wheel-chair accessible motor catamaran, “Dougal”.

Those sufficiently mobile can sail in our day-sailing boats. “Dougal” takes out Groups from a Day Centre, a Residential Home and children with Special Needs. During ‘Cowes Week’, CSC charters “Wetwheels” so that families with a disabled child or adult can together have fun afloat. CSC also charters “Spirit of Scott Bader”, a 35 foot wheel chair accessible catamaran.

All these activities achieve the Club’s objective of “Putting Smiles on Faces”.

Please come to the concert and help Cowes Sailability Club continue to do so.
