Wallkabout people

A variety of free local walks are being lead by experienced Island Ramblers.

Something for everyone from a gentle 3 mile stroll to a strenuous 15 mile hike.

A Saturday long walk from St. Blasius Church in Shanklin (Satnav PO37 6QS) This is a 15 mile circular walk for keen and experienced walkers. Be prepared for a strenuous walk and do bring a picnic lunch.

10.30 Sat 3 September 2016
A short walk from Carisbrooke Priory car park (Satnav PO30 1YS) Give rambling a try, on this popular short easy walk with slight hills to give wonderful views. Just a three mile circuit. A leisurely pace and plenty of stops to enjoy the views and take a drink.

Sat 3rd and Sun 4th September 2016
The Wolverton Manor Garden Fair (Satnav PO30 3JS) Come and visit us in the Environment Tent. Find out about The Ramblers and our walk and social programme. Learn about the new Coastal Trail. Plenty of free Island walking leaflets. Childrens activities.

A Sunday stroll from Firestone Copse car park (Satnav PO33 4HH) A four to five mile circuit with a one hour stop at Quarr Abbey for refreshments or a wander. Leisurely pace with plenty of stops.

A short walk from Golden Hill car park (free) (Satnav PO40 9GD) Give rambling a try, on this popular three mile easy walk with slight hills to give wonderful views. Drink stop.

10.30 Tues 6th September 2016
Climb to enjoy magnificent views of the bay, starting at Whitwell Church (Satnav PO38 2PY) Roadside parking in Whitwell. Bring a Picnic lunch for this five mile circular walk.

10.30 Wed 7th September 2016
The Warrior Trail – starts at Mottistone Manor NT car park (free) (Satnav PO30 4ED) Give rambling a try, on this popular and varied trail devised by Isle of Wight Ramblers. Hear about the bravery of man and horse in World War I. A circular six mile walk with a stop for your picnic lunch. Leaflets with historical details will be available for everyone.

Oh so common! Walk starts from Brighstone Village car park (free) (Satnav PO30 4BJ) A circular eight mile walk stopping for a picnic lunch and visiting Moortown, Longstone, Hulverstone, Brook, coastal footpath, returning via Chilton Farm. Please keep your dog on lead at all times

Linear walk to Ryde along disused railway track to St. Helens starting at Brading car park (Satnav PO36 0AR) There will be a coffee stop at Fakenham Farm. 6.5 mile linear coast path walk to Ryde. Take the bus back to Brading.

A Saturday long walk from Godshill car park (Satnav PO38 3JD) A circular walk for seasoned walkers stopping for a picnic lunch. Be prepared for a strenuous walk and do bring a picnic lunch.

Ashey Down and Nunwell circular walk starting at Ashey Down lay-by (Satnav PO33 4AX) A 4.5 mile leisurely Sunday stroll with a drinks stop.
