A hilarious, poignant, multi-media cabaret show which traces the steps of the early 80s New Romantic pop star, LaLa Shockette,(the alter ego of Lowri-Ann Richards) from her humble, Welsh dairy farm beginnings to Top of the Pops, appearances at Wembly & iconic stardom.
Beautifully sung songs by artists as diverse as John Cale, David Bowie, Kate Bush, Gary Numan- with anecdotes & some very tall stories which are 'backed up' through the use of projected original photographs & live video footage.
Paul Griffiths from Y Cymro gave the show 5* when he reviewed the piece in Edinburgh 2014 & said, "If Edinburgh is all about your star rating, 'Whatever Happened to LaLa Shockette?' has the ability to dazzle, not only by the brilliance of Lowri-Ann Richards comic routine, but also by the abundance of well known 80's pop icons, she's bumped into & bonked over the years....A star filled brilliant cabaret"
Sue Denham gave the show 4* from Broadway Baby & wrote "If ever there was an appropriate time to say, 'I'll have what she's drinking', it would be after watching the mini-tornado that is Lowri-Ann Richards... a siren of cabaret"
