Ben Cox is an outstanding Jazz singer. He initially studied classical piano and trumpet, but he was also lead vocalist and trumpeter with the Essex Youth Jazz Orchestra for several years. His love of jazz and lead him to London and his studies at Guildhall.

Since moving to London he has taken his opportunities to perform with internationally acclaimed jazz musicians, including Wynton Marsalis, Ian Shaw, Todd Gordon, Jacqui Dankworth, Cleo Laine and Liane Carroll. He has performed in venues such as Ronnie Scotts Jazz Club, Barbican Hall and Kings Place. 2013 saw the successful launch of The Ben Cox Band as a result of his collaboration with the brilliant pianist and musical director, Jamie Safiruddin who some of you may remember accompanied Barb Jungr last year, at the club. Together with Jamie and and sometimes the other, exceptional musicians in their quintet, singer and writer Ben is now taking this timeless music to new audiences, as well as to those who are already devotees, performing to great reviews in venues in London and around the UK.

This is a wonderful opportunity for Islanders and visitors to see two of the most talked about, talented musicians on the London circuit, in the lush lounge of our club.
