All the weekend workshops are £60 per person - this is for whole weekend - 12th and 13th September 2015

Class sizes are small, so if you are interested I would recommend that you book your space sooner rather than later.

Stitchionary - A Modern Introduction to Hand Embroidery - maximum 8 places

Students require no previous experience in hand embroidery to enjoy and fully participate in this workshop.

This gently paced workshop will introduce single and composite embroidery stitches and explore how couched threads and beads can add texture and dimension to embroidery work. Students will create some lovely felt pages for the inside of their Stitchionary and then move on to create the beautiful cover.

There will be opportunity to use various threads, beads and other items from the stash that will be made available on the day, but I also encourage students to dig out anything they may have at home to add to it.

Machine Embroidery with Alison Peters - maximum 8 places

During this 2 day workshop you will design, plan and produce a layered piece of work. I will demonstrate how I approach each stage of the process and provide guidance along the way. Techniques include reverse appliqué and machine embroidery.

Alison can provide a kit that includes the items that you may be unlikely to already have at a cost of £5. Kit includes – Dressmakers tissue paper, water soluble embroidery film, wire, panel pins, and mount board

Junk/Art Journalling Class - maximum 8 places

Fabric Journal Cover (option 1) In this workshop you will make a journal cover from fabric scraps. I will give you ideas how to embellish it using lace, buttons, beads etc. this can be done at home or at the end of the workshop if time allows. You will then make four signatures of about ten pages each using an assortment of recycled paper. These pages will incorporate pockets, tuck spots and journalling space. Finally, the pages will be sewn into the cover using pamphlet stitch. Fabric Paper Journal Cover (option 2) In this workshop you will make a stiffer cover. Embellished with paper napkins, stitching, buttons etc.
