Screenwriter, Novelist and BBC Script Editor, Barbara Jane Mackie will be holding more Writing Workshops at the Blacksheep Bar and Restaurant in Union Street, Ryde

With an extensive background in producing, writing and developing BBC dramas ‘Dangerfield’, ‘Bad Company’ and ‘Dalziel and Pascoe’, Barbara has developed her recently completed her first novel, the romantic comedy, ‘Eat the View.’ Barbara has extensive experience of teaching and leading dynamic writing workshops and has recently received her Masters degree in Creative Writing.

Day One: How to develop your TV Drama Script
Finding your plot, developing great characters, building your world. Looking at Film Cips and TV Scripts that work. Writing for Actors. Book to Screen Adaptations. Studying classic films that really work.

Day Two: The Screenplay (Film)
Guest Speaker, Robin Mukherjee – ‘The Bill’, ‘EastEnders’, ‘Casualty’ and many more. Robin and Barbara will be leading the group in TV Script and Screenwriting exercises and feeding back on group work. (Writers invited to join Barbara and Robin for dinner at The Black Sheep at 7.30pm Sat. Optional. Book at B/S)

Day Three: Polishing your script and Marketing
Advice given on TV agents and TV Channels to aim for. Notes on scripts, building your crafts and re-writes. Writers are encouraged to invite friends and family to The Blacksheep Bar to listen to their performed readings of their scripts at 3.00pm
