This is a new non-political community group whose objectives are to get people working with what is going on in Ryde and to be a showcase of how hard many people are working to make our town a great place to live.

We want to promote high standards of planning and architecture in Ryde and to protect the environment in the broadest sense, from buildings to green space, ancient woodland and our SSSIs along the coast.

We will also carry out research into ways to fund and to work towards our objectives and we will publish the results on our website. The work will all be carried out by volunteers and we would therefore like to invite everyone who lives in Ryde who would want to take part in our society to the meetings and to volunteer for the many roles we have available.

Monday's spoeaker
On Monday our Speaker will be Ian Boyd who will present his research on Ryde Regeneration and after the formal meeting, Malcolm Marshall will show a series of inspirational slides of what the ice rink might become.

We hope that you will join us.

The meeting is free - but buy a drink at the bar because the hotel gave us the room for free - and there will be a hat for a collection at the end.
