If you were lucky enough to be at the last two West Wight Arts Association’s concerts, Sheku Kanneh-Mason in October and the Castalian quartet in November, you will know what enormously talented young musicians perform at the Memorial Hall Freshwater for West Wight Arts Association.

If you weren’t there, make sure you get to the next one on December 9th, to be given by the winner of the Lionel Tertis Viola competition Timothy Ridout and Frank Dupree, piano.

The Gramophone magazine said of Timothy’s playing: “a gorgeous tone, a thoughtful approach to phrasing and an infectious sense of impetuosity….”

Timothy and Frank will be playing Brahms’ sonata in F minor, Tertis’ Song transcriptions, Three Romances by Schumann and Prokoviev’s Six Pieces from the ballet Romeo and Juliet arranged for viola and piano.

The programme will be almost the same as they will be giving earlier that week at the Wigmore Hall in London. You can hear them in Freshwater Memorial Hall, affectionately known as “The Wigmore Hall of the Isle of Wight.”

There will be mulled wine and mince pies after the concert.

Tickets are £14.00 (£2.00) children and students) available from www.westwightarts.com or 756028.
