Nicholas McCarthy Performs Bach & Rachmaninoff by Candlelight.

Celebrated pianist Nicholas McCarthy has inspired many around the world with his sheer determination and spirit in achieving a prolific concert career despite being born with only one hand. His historic graduation from the Royal College of Music in 2012 made press headlines with him being the first ever one-handed pianist to graduate.

Now five years on, this concert will focus on his favorite composers Bach and Rachmaninoff representing the best exponents of the Baroque and Romantic period. Nicholas will introduce many of the pieces giving some insight into the works he performs.

The haunting beauty and poignancy of Bach and Rachmaninoff’s music will be performed in the impressive setting of St Martin-In-The-Fields in a candlelit performance by the inspirational left hand alone pianist.

Nicholas has toured the U.K and all over the world including China, Istanbul, Japan, South Korea the U.S and South Africa. He is also a popular motivational speaker and presenter.

Join Nicholas for a very special concert featuring such works as Bach’s monumental Chaconne in D Minor and the delicate pastoral setting of ‘Sheep May Safely Graze’ along with Nicholas’s own exciting arrangement of Rachmaninoff’s blazingly virtuosic Prelude in G Minor Opus 23 No.5.

Join Nicholas for a spellbinding evening featuring an important cross section of these great and prolific composers.
