Arthur Sawbridge, violinist and composer, has been playing since his fingers were big enough (starting aged 4). In 2010, he swapped his orchestral seat for a loop pedal and a bank of electronic effects, and plunged into Oxford’s alternative music scene. Earning strong reviews and comparisons to indie composer Mark Mothersbaugh, Arthur’s show was described as ‘Palatial minimalism, composed in every sense.’ (Oxford Theatre Review)
He has played his expansive live show at venues across the UK; his music has shared spaces with Greek statues (at the Ashmolean Museum in Oxford) and abstract paintings (at Whitespace Gallery in Edinburgh).
Inspired by Owen Pallett, Arthur Russell and Brian Eno, Arthur’s music comprises live looping, evocative soundscapes and intricate improvisations.
Moving to the East Cowes, Isle of Wight in 2015, this is Arthur’s debut show on the Island.
