POA Learning and Ventnor Town Council are organising a Free Autism Awareness Workshop on the 25th January 2107.

This short workshop aims to provide learners with a basic understanding of working with young people who are autistic, and will help develop strategies to support and manage individuals with autism.

taking part in a range of activities and group discussions , learners will explore: * The perception of autism * Myths surrounding autism * The diagnosis process for autism * Strategies for dealing with young people who suffer from autism *Modifications required in a learning and home environment for people with autism

The workshop is designed for anyone who wants to develop a basic understanding of autism and is of particular relevance to anyone working in the voluntary, community and customer service sectors.
