The venue is St Michael's Church in Haylands which has a beautiful interior and great acoustics making it a perfect setting for jazz.

The theme of the evening will be the Great American Songbook, with well-known standards by Gershwin, Cole Porter and other leading composers performed in an accessible and intimate manner.

The musicians are Loren Thorn (vocals), Nick Page (guitar and vocals), Jim Thorn (piano), Jon Thorne (double bass) and Ken Black (drums). Doors open at 7pm.

The music will start at 7.30 and there will be two sets of one hour with a 30 minute break where refreshments, and the opportunity to look around the lovely Church will be available.

This concert takes place in the wonderful surroundings of St Michael and All Angels Church in Swanmore, PO33 3EH, near Haylands.

The church is situated at the corner of St Michaels Avenue and Wray Street and can be reached via Upton Road, Ashey Road, or Bettesworth Road.

Parking in the local area is quite limited so people are advised not to leave it until the last minute to arrive.

Ryde Arts Festival
Ryde has been celebrating with its own festival for fifteen years, receiving many Arts Council grants and backing from the Ryde Town Council, Isle of Wight Council and local business organisations.

Ryde Arts Festival has always been a community based celebration of the talents of the town and wider Island. Our mission has been to commission new work and so grow opportunities for professional artists. We always seek to involve many individuals and groups in all our projects and believe that by working in collaboration we can all achieve exciting outcomes.

Previous years have seen towering installations, heard new music and created a life size rag doll family, to name a few. This year we have achieved a two-year grant from Arts Council England which we hope will Grow Ryde’s fame even further.
