Quintet

Get ready for our first event of the year. Freshwater Lifeboat presents a "Winter Wind and Song" concert at St Agnes Church Freshwater on Wednesday 17th Feb at 7.30pm.

We are extremely fortunate in that Ruth Allen, one of our new members, has offered the services of her fantastic group, the John Clare Wind Quintet, and they will be joined by the wonderful Camerata Chamber choir in a mixed programme to warm the cockles on a cold winter night.

The quintet will play "La Cheminee du Roi Rene’ by Milhaud and works by Vinter and Paquito D’Rivera. A nautical offering in the second half will include Malcolm Arnold’s ‘Three Shanties’ and March ‘Padstow Lifeboat’ and an arrangement of Henry Wood’s ‘Fantasia on British Sea Songs’. Camerata Chamber Choir will sing renaissance pieces by Palestrina, Lasso and Tallis, and contemporary works by Miskinis, Lasso, Karl Jenkins, Chilcot and the Seal Lullaby by Eric Whitacre.

There is no charge for this concert but a retiring collection will be held for the Freshwater Independent Lifeboat.

Seating at the thatched church is limited so please come early to avoid dissapointment.

The nearest loos are a 2 minute walk away so please come prepared for a short sojourn if the need arises!!
