The 2015-2016 season of West Wight Arts Association concerts begins on Saturday September 12th with the return visit of the acclaimed young cellist Richard Harwood and the world famous pianist Julius Drake.

The concert will take place in the Memorial Hall, Freshwater and starts at 7.00. Richard and Julius will play Debussy’s late sonata for cello and piano, regarded as one of the finest masterpieces written for the instrument and Fauré’s Sonata in G minor, also written towards the end of the composer’s life.

After the interval there will be Schumann’s Adagio and Allegro op. 70 composed in 1849 and the concert will finish with Brahms’ first sonata for piano and cello written in E minor, and as a homage to J.S. Bach.

Tickets are available at £12 (children and students £2) from Totland Parish Office, 756028, [email protected] or from the West Wight Arts Association website www.westwightarts.co.uk.

Season tickets for all 8 concerts of the season at £75 (saving of £21 on the full price) are available from Malcolm Tait, [email protected] or 752544 or a form can be downloaded from the website where there are full details of all the concerts.
