Step back to the 1940s and dance away the afternoon, have a bit of an old time sing-a-long, or just share some memories of island life in the war.

This year marks the 70th anniversary of the end of the Second World War.

On Thursday June 4th from 3-5pm, Windmills Preschool in Bembridge are hosting a charity fundraiser in the form of a 1940s Tea Dance in the Village Hall.

Windmills Preschool Ltd is a small independent preschool with charitable status, run by a manager and a voluntary board of directors.

All proceeds raised from this event will benefit the preschool, which has been established in Bembridge for many years and enjoys a Good Ofsted award.

With live music, a proper afternoon tea, dancing and a trip down memory lane, the afternoon is sure to be nostalgic fun. Bembridge Heritage Centre will be displaying local wartime memorabilia and photographs, and the ticket price for the Tea Dance includes free entry into a raffle.

Tickets cost £7 per person and are available at The Library, The Farm Shop, the Parish Council and Crumbs in Lane End.

There is a limited supply of 60 tickets, and entry to this event is ticket only. Early purchase is advisable.
