On Sunday, 3rd May we are inviting Islanders of all ages and artistic abilities, amateur or professional, to assemble on Ventnor seafront for the biggest painting competition the town, and possibly the Island, has ever seen!

So dust off, beg or borrow an easel and put the date firmly in your diary.

Artworks should depict either the sea at Ventnor or an aspect of Ventnor as seen from the seafront, and all work must be executed between 10 am and 4 pm on Sunday 3 May, along the seafront in Ventnor.

Finished works will be judged at 5pm at the Ventnor Winter Gardens, after which the prizes will be awarded.

The judges will be: Isle of Wight artist and Yarmouth gallery owner Anne Toms, local art historian Robin McInnes and County Press deputy editor Rachael Rosewell.
