Based within the valley of the River Kennet, the orchestra is supported by an enthusiastic group of accordionists from the surrounding towns of Marlborough, Hungerford, Newbury and Swindon.
They share a common passion for playing the accordion and as a collective, perform concerts, support charitable organisations and participate in music festivals throughout the local region and beyond.
Under the baton of Musical Director, Nigel Pasby, the orchestra rehearse an extensive musical repertoire that includes pieces from many musical genres. Nigel cites Mozart and Mercury (Freddie) as two of his major musical influences and this diversity is reflected in the orchestra’s performances, which can include familiar film scores like 'Cinema Paradiso', a spine chilling 'Jaws' and even 'Pirates of the Carribean'. Expect classical to pop as well as music written especially for the Accordion.
Performance approximately 45 minutes
