March Line-up: Lloyd Griffith, Luke Benson, Steve Gribbin

Lloyd Griffith
Lloyd is a comedian, a professional choirboy and a good looking guy. He took his debut solo show to Edinburgh fringe festival in 2014 to rave reviews. In 2014 he appeared on BBC3’s Sweat The Small Stuff, BBC Radio 1s Live Lounge Comedy Club as well as supporting Rob Beckett on his 2013-2014 sold out UK tour.

Grimsby-born Lloyd regularly performs at some of the largest clubs in the UK and even some of the smaller ones too.

Singing wise, Lloyd is a professional (choral) singer and can be heard performing with the choirs of Westminster Abbey, St George’s Chapel – Windsor Castle and various other London groups. What a guy.

“The next big thing” FHM

“Griffith in particular was absolutely outstanding” Broadway Baby

Luke Benson
Luke is a Giant, a man & stand-up comedian/low-level sportscaster.

He has been at the Comedy since 2007 and been in the finals of many competitions of which he has won not one, which is FINE. It’s the taking part that’s important, isn’t it? ISN’T IT? More than medals, trophies, far higher remuneration and proper accreditation in this meritocracy we live, it’s the taking part.

He has gigged all over the shop, if by “shop” he means “planet”. Places including Bahrain, Scandinavia, The Balkans (Slovenia, Croatia, Hungary) and the mighty Belfast.

He has featured in 2 whizz-bang Edinburgh showcases: Big Value & Comedy Reserve.

He has written & performed two full length solo shows:

“Backseat Hero”: A comic appraisal of his experience being stalked by a taxi-driver

“Legendary Feet”: A quest to better his own Legend and analysis of what really makes one, against what made one.

Steve Gribbin
Steve Gribbin is a diminutive guitar-wielding satirist from Liverpool whose scabrous comedy songs and off the wall observations have made him one of the firm favourites of the comedy circuit.

Steve’s original comedy songs combine razor sharp lyrics with tunes that put their foot in the door of your mind and refuse to leave. Firmly based in rock ‘n’ roll and refusing to pull no punches, these are not the ‘oh so witty’ ditties of penguin-suited plink plonk piano playing posh gobs. They are that rarity – comedy songs which are actually funny.

For nine years Steve was the smaller one in the dynamic comedy duo Skint Video, stalwarts of the Edinburgh Festival, appearing on countless television programmes such as Saturday Live, radio such as The Mary Whitehouse Experience, and their own show in 1992/3 Songlines (BBC Radio 1). Skint Video went their different ways in 1993, since when Steve has been storming across the UK and Ireland as a solo artiste.

“A highly refreshing and original comic with a gift for sharp observations and up-to-the-minute political asides… With more energy than a friendly Tasmanian devil, this affable and animated comedian tells jokes, plays the guitar and sings lyrics.” The Scotsman
