Modern Medical Imaging: getting the right treatment to the right patient
Dr Martin Christlieb, Department of Oncology, University of Oxford
Cancer is a complex and varied disease; we are all different and our cancers are different. All this means that each person will need treatment tailored to their particular disease. We must develop new treatments, but also techniques for deciding which treatment will be most effective. New imaging techniques promise to allow us to look inside the human body and get vital information about fitting the treatment to the individual.
Dr Martin Christlieb is the public engagement manager for the University of Oxford's Department of Oncology. In this interactive session we will explore how imaging works and what it can do for us. We will also look at some of the cutting edge imaging research from the labs in Oxford.
(A brief Isle of Wight Section annual review will precede this lecture.)
