The eighth meeting will be on Monday 14th May.

Remember that it will be at our new venue: The Regency Suite above the Conservative Club in Shanklin.

The speaker will be Dr. Alan Chambers, a senior lecturer in the department of Materials Engineering at Southampton University. He will be talking about "Engineering in Medicine,Art, Fashion & Sport".

This will include such subjects as stress testing historical tapestries and why our first fleet of commercial jet aircraft, the Comets, had several tragic crashes.

Donation of at least £3 on the door (instead of passing the hat round) to make sure we cover all our expenses. i.e. the rent, cost of speakers' travel expenses and a meal, plus overnight accommodation if needed.
