11am, Saturday 21th April, Ventnor Library. Free - advance booking only
Vile Victorian Vampires is a spine-chilling opportunity for children aged seven and upwards to have fun making some really scary puppets with the help of Island artist Teresa Grimaldi.
To coincide with the festival's Bram Stoker centenary celebration, Teresa will be helping participants make bloodthirsty vampire rod puppet characters (and their victims). These monstrous puppets will then lay in wait around the library for their unsuspecting victims. Go down to Ventnor Library if you dare!
Teresa is an experienced arts educator. She originally studied theatre design, going on to work as a freelance designer for two years before she decided to study for a puppetry postgraduate diploma at Central School of Speech and Drama and an MA in visual performance at Dartington College of Arts. She has participated in group and solo shows in the UK, Norway and Italy and her art works have appeared in galleries, theatres and journals internationally.
The puppet-making workshop is free to attend, but places are limited and must be booked in advance.
