The legendary TRANSGLOBAL UNDERGROUND comes to Quay Arts for an exclusive live performance (TGU SoundSystem) by not three, but four members of this world famous music collective.
Hamid Manttu – Drums / Tuup - Vocals & Percussion / Sheema Mukherjee – Sitar / Tim Whelan – Keyboards.
Award winning pioneers of the dance fusion scene and regarded as one of the UK’s best live acts across festivals worldwide; their mix of eclectic sounds, percussion and flamboyant performance fuse Western dance music with Arabic, Asian and African music and reveal influences from DJ culture, Indian classical, reggae and hip-hop.
Currently in their 20th year, having performed everywhere from London to Kazakhstan, from India to South Africa and from Australia to Morocco, including the Isle of Wight Bestival 2008, this year they released their 9th album 'The Stone Turntable'.
