Joint concert – Newchurch MVC with Northampton MVC Saturday 17th Sept St Johns Church, Carter Street, Sandown, Isle of Wight at 7.30pm. Retiring collection in aid of the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance

The prestigious Northampton Male Voice Choir are to visit the Island the week-end of September 17th & 18th to take part in a joint charity concert with Newchurch MVC in St Johns Church Sandown on the Saturday. Then, on Sunday 18th, they will be singing at Warners Bembridge Coast Hotel at 3pm. A party of 70 people are travelling to the Wight.

Northampton MVC was formed in 1946. In recognition of its significant contribution to charity fundraising, the choir proudly wears the Northampton coat of arms as its badge.

They undertake 12 to 15 concerts a year. £4,000 was raised in one evening for a cancer charity concert.

Other joint concerts have involved the London welsh, Mevagissey, Llanelli and Braintree in Essex amongst others.

Northampton MVC try to combine a short holiday with a singing tour every other year – preferably abroad. Past trips have included the Republic of Ireland, Malta, France and Spain. However with economic climate proving to be quite a barrier the Isle of Wight has been chosen this time!

Newchurch MVC's next concert is on Sat 1st October 7.30pm Salvation Army HQ, Pyle St, Newport in aid of the Royal Institute for the Deaf. There will be a retiring collection.
