Leading Islanders will be attending the annual Holocaust Memorial Day event at Arreton Village Hall, organised jointly by the IW Jewish Society and the Salvation Army.

The theme for the 2011 occasion, initiated by the United Nations, will be ‘Untold Stories’ and this will include readings by local school children about events in Ruanda, Darfur, Armenia, Cambodia, as well as the Nazi-led ’Final Solution’.

Expected to attend will be ; Lord Lieutenant, High Sheriff, Chairman of IWCCC, Parish Councillors.

Andrew Turner will attend if he is able to get back from Westminster in time.
