Part of Quay Arts’ Heritage Season
Head upstairs to the Anthony Minghella Theatre for the screening of the Bespoke companies’ film ‘A Quay Vision’. This film tells the story of Quay Arts on the Isle of Wight - the building, its history and the community that made it; at the same time it gives an insight into the provenance of the West Collection that is now being exhibited on The West Gallery walls.
Featuring interviews with island artists and personalities among them Anne Lewington, Peter Wright, harbour master Wayne Pritchett and Carinthia West, guardian of the West Collection, this film follows the creation of an arts centre from the seed of an idea right through to the mounting of a major exhibition 35 years later.
The film will be introduced by daughter of Christine and Michael West and Rope Store Gallery exhibitor, Carinthia West who will give a talk on her work, immediately followed by the film screening of ‘A Quay Vision’ by the Bespoke Film Company made in collaboration with Island Schools.
The Anthony Minghella Theatre: Talk by Carinthia West & Film Screening of ‘A Quay Vision’ Sat 17 Jul 5 – 6pm
